AutoCAD Design
Fall 2015
This friction fit plywood box was made for my Introduction to Geometric Modeling class (MIT 4.500).
During the design phase, I created the 6 interlocking pieces and a cutsheet using LuBan, a program designed by Professor Lawrence Sass. I then used AutoCAD to add the triquetra design and finger holes. The pieces were machined from 1/2″ plywood using a CNC router. The sides are dimensioned so that friction holds them tightly together while the lid can be easily removed.
